Monster Dictionary
It's a good thing Alice Trivett isn't afraid of monsters because she's related to them! Below are the monsters Alice meets as she journeys through the Monster World...
Vampire – A deranged, blood-thirsty creature that sleeps in a coffin. They keep their hair slicked back in an old Romanian style, and hunt Alice day and night. Unfortunately, Alice really is related to these guys.
Sea Monster – Alice’s mother; this monster’s green scaly body shines and shimmers as she roams the seas. Her tail is as thick as a small tree trunk. Two rows of very pointy teeth line her upper and lower jaw. She also sports a forked, lizard-like tongue.
Frankenstein – Alice’s father. He’s got huge muscles and torn, ragged clothing. Need we say more?
Werewolf – Big, hairy, and usually smelly, these are some creatures you don’t want to meet in the woods at night. Their teeth grow several inches long, and so does their nose, for that matter! They’ll take any scraps they can get, even if it’s a little girl carrying a basket to her grandma.
Elf – No, I don’t mean a little fairy that sits on your shoulder and waves a magic wand. These creatures are fierce, mighty hunters. They live in the wooded areas, like the ones between Vitruvius and Amadeus’ castles. Dressed all in green and brown, they prowl the woods with spears in hand. Yikes!
Angel – Sweet, loving winged creatures of the sky, angels are just the kind of break Alice needs in her travels. Or are they?
Ghost – Alice has one feisty grandma and she’s a ghost. Alice better behave for this grandma. You never know when she’s watching.
River Monster – Sirens who harass travelers sailing the river. Their beautiful singing lures many a sailor to his death. Now if only they could lure Alice into being a siren…
Troll – Large, drooling and carrying a spiked club, this uncle is as barbaric as they come.
Mermaid – These regal creatures think they own the sea, much to the sea monsters dismay. If Alice can’t dodge King Floyd’s trident she may be the next little mermaid.
Monster Hunter – Alice never thought she’d be kidnapped in the Monster World, but these Hunters are always looking for new recruits to fight the spread of monster kind.
Dark Angel – Yes, there are little devils running around the Monster World and Alice is related to one of them.
Nymph – Creature who are very in tune with nature, nymphs are beautiful girls who can change into trees, flowers, and all kinds of plants. Their life span begins with the planting of a tree, and they’ve planted one for Alice.
Mummy – Wrapped in linens, these ancient relics have their own piece of desert on a sandbar near the sea. Alice thinks she’s been transported to Egypt when she finds herself in a pyramid with walking skeletons!
